Veneto Region: Finding Andrea Palladio
You may not know this about me, but I plan on living in Italy for a little while for part of my life. Specifically, northern Italy (I'm not trying to be racist at all if any italians are reading this, I just think i'd feel more at home there. Of course, I plan on traveling all over Italy. It's a beautiful country.) Anyways, the Veneto region is one of my favorite regions of Italy because of Andrea Palladio. If you do not know this already, he was an Italian Renaissance architect in Venice in the 1500's. His work was inspired by Roman and Greek architecture. All of his work is in northern Italy. Some of the buildings he designed are in the photos above so now, I'm just going to start from the first picture down describing them:
1: A portrait of Andrea Palladio around 1576.
2: The Palladio-influenced Loggia Valmara, which is part of the Giardini Salvi gardens. It looks over the Seriola Rivera in Vincenza. (One of my favorites)
3: One of Palladio's last projects known as the La Rotonda.
4, 5, 6, & 7: Just some picture's from Vincenza and the area around it. The market, food from Ca' de Memi, the main boulevard and such. They all make me want to go to Italy very badly.
8: The Villa Cornaro designed by Andrea Palladio is 1554, located in the village of Piombino Dese. BEAUTIFUL.
9: The Moses room in the Villa Cornaro with many beautiful painting's from Mattia Bortoloni.
10: Just some delicious Autumn apples from Ca' de Memi.
All pictures credited to the Italian-born author Victor Hazan, who toured Veneto looking at Andrea Palladio's work. If your interested in these places I got all the information from this website: ENJOY! Finding Palladio in the Veneto, Italy
